| The
School
The
school was developed after its Principal discovered that there was
a lack of expert training in the area, leading to recognised qualifications
and membership of recognised professional bodies in the therapies
offered, and therefore is responding to the need for high quality
training in the Yorkshire area.
The School offers an open and caring atmosphere, which engenders
feelings of enjoyment in learning, and an awareness of self-development
and aims to provide programmes of extensive practical and theoretical
studies in each of the courses offered.
The
school provides accredited courses of International Federation of
Reflexologists (IFR) the largest International Reflexology body
in the world. The School is also a registered school with
the Aromatherapy and Allied Practitioners Association (AAPA), who
are a member of the Aromatherpy Consortium (AC). The awarding
body for the Clinical Reflexology, Clinical Aromatherapy, Anatomy
& Physiology and Therapeutic Massage is the International Examination
Board (IEB). The School also runs 1st and 2nd Degree Reiki courses.
It is a requirement of the school that all students hold an appropriate
up to date first aid qualification. The school regularly provides
Appointed Person First Aid Courses, for those students who do not
hold a current first aid certificate. Courses start from £55.
The School is Registered with Career Development Loans (CDL), a
deferred repayment loan, which can be paid back at very low interest
rates, after the student qualifies. Students requiring assistance
with funding can apply for a Career Development Loan (CDL) either
through the School or independently.
In addition to being accredited with the International Federation
of Reflexologists (IFR) and the Aromatherapy and Allied Practitioners
Association (AAPA), the School is also a member of several important
and influential associations:
-
The British Complementary Medicine Association (BCMA), which
provides a consultative body for complementary therapies.
-
The UK Reiki Federation (UKRF), who are the emerging Regulatory
Body for the Profession of Reiki and who have devised, a Draft
Core Curriculum setting benchmark standards for the Reiki profession.
-
Friends of the Prince of Wales Foundation for Integrated Health
(PWFIH), which aims to facilitate the development of safe effective
and efficient forms of healthcare to patients and their families
by development and delivery of integrated healthcare. This means
encouraging conventional and complementary practitioners to
work together to integrate their approaches.
The School is currently developing a series of Post Graduate courses
to meet students' future Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
requirements.
The
school operates a system of Accreditation of Prior Learning for
those with relevant recognised qualifications. Students will cultivate
an understanding of complementary healthcare from a holistic standpoint
and develop the ability to evaluate and analyse complementary therapies
in the framework of allopathic medicine.
A variety of books, journals and articles on health related studies
are available for use within the premises. |
