Introduction
to Structural Integration
This
12 hour class is designed to give students an introduction to the principles
of Structural Integration through theory, touch and demonstration.
We
shall explore human structure, the fascial web and what we mean by an
integrated body. We shall consider the history and teachings of Dr.
Rolf that developed into her legacy known as the 10-session series.
Students
will see a demonstration of 1 st hour work, learn about body readings
and movement analysis; perform and receive fascial manipulation.
Overview
We
shall
-
Explore
the nature of the fascial web and its involvement in pain and restriction
-
Learn
how the integrity of the fascia is intrinsic to the health of the
human structure
-
Study
compensation patterns “held” in the body's fascia through “reading”
the body
-
Perform
hands-on techniques to release myofascial restrictions
-
Learn
how the body's balance can be restored in ten structural integration
sessions
Day
